The Town of Hořice

The town of Hořice, where legendary motorcycle road races take place, lies at the foot of the highest Krkonoše mountains in Czech. The first races in Hořice took place as early as the 1930s, and this tradition continues to this day. Therefore, it is a natural circuit, and outside of races, this road is used for normal traffic.

Races take place in Hořice twice a year. The 300 Gustav Havel Corners in May and the Czech Tourist Trophy in August. Both races feature international participants from Germany, the UK, France, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Finland, and others. Many of these riders also participate in the TT IOM races. The Hefty74 Racing team is an integral part of the races, and Kamil Holan is a multiple-time winner and a celebrity among fans. But other riders from Hefty74 have also left an indelible mark on the race's history: Karel "Chupa" Brandner, Miro "Laki" Sloboda, and Petr "Holik" Holanec.

Why Ride in the Czech Republic?

There are several reasons. The Czech Republic is crisscrossed by a dense network of small roads with excellent surfaces, very little traffic and endless curves. Riders with a sporty riding style will absolutely love it.

Compared to many Western European countries, traffic is light and the roads feel wonderfully open.

But it’s not only about the riding. The Czech landscape is picturesque and varied – rolling hills, forests, lakes and historic towns. Within minutes you can ride from a charming old town into peaceful natural parks and countryside.

You will also visit Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe – an experience in itself.
